Giant Benefit
Auction To Feature Arts, Crafts,
Vacations, and More
A giant benefit auction on
Friday and Saturday July 20 and 21 at Deep Creek Lake, MD is an event that
you won’t want to miss. Quality locally made quilts and wall hangings,
hand-crafted furniture, glassware from Lenox and Simon Pearce will be
among the several hundred featured items of Saturday’s auction. Artwork
includes Spruce Forest artisans Lais pottery, Gary Yoder carvings (5-time
International Waterfowl champion) Best ironworks, and numbered P. Buckley
Moss prints.
Bid for vacation
opportunities: one week in summer and a weekend in ski season at Deep
Creek Lake in a 3 bedroom condo, overnight in a Victorian Bed &
Breakfast Inn and a family vacation time at Laurelville Church Center.
Friday evening the grounds
open at 4:30 pm with a Silent Auction this year featuring “Christmas in
July.” Bid on a weekend in a log cabin or a Hummel figure to name a few
of the over 100 items available. A silent auction has no auctioneer.
Bidding is done on paper and results will be announced at 8:30 pm. A
puppet show for young and old and music will be highlighted at 7:00 pm.
A market place featuring
home-baked pies, crafts, houseplants, books, baby quilts and much, much
more will be open both days. Ten Thousand Villages will have crafts
available from around the world.
The children will have a
great time Saturday in the activities area. A special auction for children
under 12 will begin at 11:00 am. Plenty of homemade foods will be
available as well as pancake and sausage, barbecued chicken, homemade ice
cream to name but a few.
A pre-sale feature is a
bike ride that will be held on June 16 beginning at the Outlet Park,
Confluence, PA at 10:00 am. Call (814) 662-2147 for more information on

Grounds will be open at
6:30 am on Saturday for breakfast and the main auction is 10 am - 4 pm.
